Schaafsma Heating and Cooling has delivered comfort to residential and commercial customers since 1905. Since Marv Schaafsma’s retirement (grandson of the founder), the company is continued by friends who are passionate about continuing the family tradition. With a commitment to excellence, this company has survived two world wars, the great depression and 18 different Presidents.

Schaafsma’s NATE certified team knows all about “energy efficiency.” That’s why they turned to Borgman Ford to economize their fleet costs with the Transit Connect. “We help consumers and businesses save energy every day with properly sized HVAC equipment and innovative product like our Aeroseal Duct sealing service. So we know how energy savings stack up with the right line of efficient equipment and reduced use of fossil fuels,” says Greg Kippen, account manager.

In Schaafsma’s service department, the Transit Connect is a welcome addition with it’s great upfits for organizing parts and accessories and great mileage that’s already driving down fuel costs.

“At Schaafsma, we support initiatives that reduce the carbon footprint,” Kippen says. For example, one of Kippen’s favorite services in terms of energy savings is the Aeroseal ductwork sealing service, which can dramatically reduce energy costs in both residential and commercial settings. “In commercial settings, the ductwork is often outside the thermal envelope, which means you can literally be vaporizing dollars,” he said.

The Benefits of Aeroseal Software

  • even heating and cooling
  • better air quality
  • improved efficiency

How it Works

Aeroseal software ensures that leaks are nonexistent and the air you are paying to temper is making it to its destination. The Aeroseal software process puts pressure on escaping air, causes polymer particles to stick to the edges of the leak, and then to each other until the leak is closed, thus allowing your technician to accurately measure the duct leakage in your home. According to Schaafsma’s website, the government has reported savings up to $300 per year by sealing ductwork!
